Mike Burnham

Mike studied violin at the Birmingham Conservatoire and Trinity College of Music, London.

He began his professional career in 1970 and has worked successfully across folk and classical boundaries. Along with Ric Sanders (Fairport Convention) Mike established Moor Green Recording Studios in Worcestershire where they recorded such artists as June Tabor, Martin Simpson and Rick Kemp.

In 1997 Mike teamed up with Vo and Rachel Fletcher to form the band “Time And Again”, playing a variety of original compositions and folk / world music. Early in 1998 Dave Swarbrick formed the band “Smiddyburn” with Mike and Kevin Dempsey. The group also featured Nigel Kennedy’s bass player Rory McFarlane.

Recently Michael received incredible reviews for his debut solo album “Sarona” which featured the music of famed Scottish violinist, James “Scott” Skinner.
